School Policies

A country needs a strong infrastructure to grow and prosper. This infrastructure is not only road and railways but also educational institutes. A school is the base of any educational system. A school is not only responsible for providing right education but have a greater role in creating and providing better individuals/adults who can serve the nation. Hence, to choose a right school, parent should not only focus on infrastructure but also on:

  • Working culture: The working culture should have the feeling of “no work is small or negligent”.
  • Regular and direct involvement of founders: The founders who put forward the vision of school should be involved directly in creating the system which they envision.
  • Leaders for future: The focus should be given on making a self sustainable system which is not dependent on any individual be it founder, management or educator.
  • Exposure to various practical life skills: Education is not just bookish knowledge but exposure to practical life problems and skills to tackle them.
  • Value education An individual, however educated he may be, can only serve nation when she shows and support her work with highest degree of ethical and moral values.
  • Confidence to struggle and to represent: No one can guarantee a problem free life. Everyone has to struggle to survive and to represent. Acceptability of going through the phase of struggle provides confidence and never giving up attitude. This can be achieved by enforcing child in various such situations during studies, sports, events etc.
  • Self-learning, un-learning and re-learning: In real life everyone has to learn many things, unlearn some things and re learn few things. It’s a constant process of evolving and a school should foster such skills.
  • Social and emotional skills: Since, a human is a social animal, he has to learn to behave, to tolerate, to appreciate, to speak up mind, to be clear in thoughts. These skills should be the core of curriculum.
  • 100% participation: Our school promotes and encourages 100% participation by all the staff members, educators, students and parents in the major events. We also recognize those who have 100% attendance in a particular month.
  • Citizen for future: The culmination of school education should be the adult who can serve the nation & humanity without any biases. This is also stated in our school’s mission statement– “to nurture confidence, open-mindedness and independent thinking in the students it serve”.
  • Parental involvement: Our school believes that parent’s community is the partner in building a continuously growing eco system. We have mechanized various means for involving and interacting with parents, you can read more about it on the ‘parent engagement page’.
  • Practical life skills: Practical skills are the core of our school. Such skills along with classroom learning are much needed for over-all grooming of a child. Open classroom sessions, corridor activities, field trips etc provides required exposure for practical life learning.
  • Strong Safety norms: Our school follows strict safety norms inside and outside the campus. In case of younger ones parents also become rigid practitioner on regular basis. Violating it may lead to serious action, including termination from school.
  • Punctuality and regularity: Every our school member be it parent, student or educator feel proud when we start and finish all the events and routine school days on time. Such strict punctuality is applicable on all the members. Regularity and practice is required to harness any skill and hence, our school stresses on it.
  • No tuition policy: Our school disallows private tuition as they serve only as a crutch for students. In case a parent feels that her ward has a specific need for special assistance she must contact the school in this regard. Students who go for tuitions often think that homework and study are the responsibility of their tuition teacher; also they are unable to develop independent learning and self-study skills. This becomes a major issue with students as they grow up when they need to learn independently. Similarly educators are not allowed to take private tuition whether it is for students of our school or others.
  • Language policy: English is the medium of communication with students. However, usage of Mother Tongue (for those children with mother tongue other than English) in school is also encouraged where the need for expression is more important than the language being used. The school therefore believes in a healthy mix of languages being used inside the classroom by the students and at times also by the teachers, especially in the early formative years where English is a new language for most children.
  • Anti-ragging/anti-bullying policy: Students need a supportive, caring and safe environment for learning. Bullying is defined as physical abuse (hitting, kicking, etc), verbal abuse (calling names and racist remarks), damaging school property and property of those within school. This is an unacceptable anti-social behavior and will not be tolerated.
  • No-corporal punishment: Innovious is a happy and friendly community which respects and is respected by everyone. We support and care about everyone. At any point teachers are not allowed to hit students (slapping and pushing). School management will take strict actions against the offenders.
